Statement on the Ban of TPO Use Effective from September 1, 2025
In accordance with European Union Regulation No. 2025/877 of May 12, 2025, which prohibits the use of the substance Trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide (TPO) in cosmetic products, we hereby announce that from September 1, 2025, it will no longer be possible to place on the EU market or sell products containing this substance.

🔍 About TPO:
TPO has been used in nail cosmetics as a photoinitiator, ensuring the curing of gel under a UV/LED lamp. Based on new toxicological assessments, TPO has been identified as a potentially hazardous substance – particularly with long-term and repeated exposure.
🧭 Our reaction:
The TRUSCADA brand respects this legislation and is taking all necessary steps to ensure compliance with the new regulations. However, we recognize that the transition period between the publication of the binding regulation and its enforcement is extremely short — only about 3 months.
This decision has a significant impact not only on customers who have invested in TPO-based stock, but also on distributors and clients who must urgently adjust the composition and production of their products.
In this context:
- As of September 1, 2025, we will discontinue the sale of all products containing TPO.
- Products are gradually being replaced with TPO-free alternatives that meet all legislative and quality requirements.
- We will provide our customers with professional support during the transition to the new products to ensure the smoothest possible changeover.
- We will also prepare a complete information leaflet with labels and ingredients, which will serve as documentation for salons in the event of inspections.

We care about both quality and health, which is why from now on you’ll find only TPO-free products with us.
ℹ️ Customer Recommendations:
- We kindly ask all customers to check the composition of the products they use and, starting September 1, 2025, to stop using any products containing TPO. We will prepare a complete document listing all TPO-FREE ingredients and back labels, which can be requested and kept in salons in case of inspections. If you are interested in receiving this list, please contact us.
- From September 1, 2025, products containing TPO may not be used or stored in premises where professional manicure or pedicure services are performed.
